The Best Green Sauce

Back in the fall I shared my mom’s famous Green Sauce recipe on my Instagram, and I thought I’d share it here again with Cinco De Mayo coming up around the corner. This dip is my absolute favorite, and I like to make it year around. No holiday needed for me to crave this! For a dip that packs a great punch, the shopping list is simple & it’s so easy to make!

Shopping List:

4 tomatillos

4 small green tomatoes

2 jalapenos

3 garlic cloves

2T EVOO

3 avocados

4 bunches of cilantro

salt

16oz sour cream

favorite tortilla chips

To Make: Combine tomatillos, jalapenos, & garlic in a sauce pan. Add EVOO. Bring to a boil, then simmer on medium for 15 min. Pour the ingredients from the sauce pan into a blender, then add to the blender the avocados & cilantro. Once all is blended, stir in the sour cream. Salt to taste. Chill for a few hours, then serve!
